Are you a bride to be and despite all the excitement, you still don’t
know where to start off on your wedding planning?
Here is a wedding checklist that will give you an idea on what needs
to be done and help you get starting out on planning that perfect
*Work out your budget and identify your top priorities I.e the things
you can do without and those ones you must have.
*Look around for ideas on your wedding style theme color.
*Compile a guest list.
*Choose your bridal party
*Find a venue for the wedding and reception. Reserve the date.
*Work on the style and wording of the wedding invitations.
*Find a dress, undergarments, accessories and shoes.
*Find the following vendors
*Confirm with the wedding officiant and discuss marriage license requirements.
*Work on a honeymoon destination and obtain necessary documents.
*Send out wedding invites.
*Create your gift registry.
*Shop for bridesmaid and flower girl dresses and shoes.
*Shop for groom and groomsmen outfits.
*Reserve structural and electrical necessities.
*Plan for a rehearsal dinner.
*Work on ceremony readings and vows.
*Do a makeup and hair trial.
*Book stylists for hair and makeup.
*Purchase wedding rings.
*Create song list with your Band or DJ.
*Create a wedding timeline of how you expect things to run.
*Make a list of the people you would like to speak at the reception.
*Assign seats for guests. (If it’s an invite only affair)
Some of the items like the dress fitting and meeting with the vendors,
may require more than 2 meetings to ensure everything is moving on
well. Ensure that a week to the wedding you get in touch with all
vendors to finalize the planning and the payments. For legal reasons,
it is also very important that you sign contracts with all your
vendors. These will come in handy in case of any disagreements.
If all this seems too much to handle, then getting a wedding planner
might be what you need.
